Calculus-Based Physics

A Free Physics Textbook
by Jeffrey W. Schnick

Calculus-Based Physics is an introductory physics textbook designed for use in the two-semester introductory physics course typically taken by science and engineering students.  Calculus-Based Physics is a free physics textbook.  You are encouraged to copy, edit, use, and share the book itself and the ancillary materials posted to this web site in accord with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License.

Calculus-Based Physics is provided here (1st Semester Downloads and 2nd Semester Downloads) in pdf and MS WordTM formats. Calculus-Based Physics is now available in hardcopy in the form of two black and white paperbacks at www.LuLu.com at the cost of production plus shipping. Note that Calculus-Based Physics is designed for easy photocopying. So, if you prefer to make your own hard copy, just print the pdf file and make as many copies as you need. While some color is used in the textbook, the text does not refer to colors so black and white hard copies are viable.

I wrote Calculus-Based Physics in MS WordTM to make it easy for you to edit it. If the book looks useful to you, but some changes would make it more useful, please download the MS WordTM version and edit it to your liking. If you do that, it would be appreciated if you could post it (both a version that folks can edit and a pdf version) to your web site and give me the URL so that I can provide a link to it on this site.
